Description:
The Faculty of Arts of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship in English Language to be filled as soon as possible. Applicants should have demonstrated competence in diachronic English linguistics and the history of the English language (in particular Old and/or Middle English); candidates are also expected to have experience in teaching Medieval English literature. Substantial publications beyond the doctoral thesis and a functionally adequate command of German are prerequisites. The University strives to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching. Therefore, applications from suitably qualified female academics are particularly welcome. Applications with CV, a list of publications (without the publications themselves) and a list of courses offered in the past should be sent by February 27, 2009, to the address provided below.
