Shackleton, Jr., will defend his thesis on Quantitative Assessment of English-American Speech Relationships at the University of Groningen. In honor of this event there will be a workshop on June 16, 2010 entitled 'Bloomsday 2010: Echoes of Albion' on the same subject where several guest speakers will give a presentation. In addition, there will be a small poster session of about 10 posters about related themes, for example quantitative analysis of language variation in general or qualitative analysis of English or American dialects.
