Description:
The World Languages Department at the University of South Florida seeks
applicants for a full time Instructor of Brazilian Portuguese to begin
August 7, 2010. The position is a 9 month, full time, non-tenure track,
with potential additional responsibilities for service related to lower
division instruction. USF offers a first class benefits package that

tuition program, generous leave programs and much more. Salary for this
position is 36,000 annually.
Responsibilities: Teach Portuguese language at all levels and undergraduate
Linguistic courses. This position will be teaching intensive, with 4 plus 4
teaching loads or the equivalent
Qualifications:
Minimum: M.A. in relevant field. The successful candidate will demonstrate
excellence in classroom teaching and will also be a native speaker of
Brazilian Portuguese with a full command of English. Experience teaching
Portuguese at the university level, demonstrated interest and commitment to
undergraduate education in an interdisciplinary environment. Excellent
written and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred:
Abilities to develop a coherent program of instruction in Portuguese and
demonstrated ability to work well with others, as the Department will be
cooperating with the Institute for the Study of Latin America and the
Caribbean to develop Brazilian Studies at the University, and this
individual will play an important role in that effort.
