Description:
Computational linguist (50% position) Applicants must have a university degree (in computational linguistics, computer science or linguistics) which qualifies for PhD studies. Required qualifications: experience with ontologies (formalisms and tools, e.g., DOLCE, SUMO, RDF(S), OWL, SWRL, Protege, Reasoners), programming in Java and script language(s), basic knowledge in lexical semantics and in French, interest in Textual Entailment/Natural Language Understanding. Preferred qualifications: further skills in corpus extraction methods, textual entailment, French, German. The position can be filled starting July 1st, 2010 (but as soon as possible) until June 30th, 2014. The researcher is expected to work in Stuttgart, and to work with a linguist (full postdoc position) whose task is the formal semantic description of French verbs. The position is located in project B5 'Polysemy in a Conceptual System' of the SFB 732 ('Incremental specification in context', +20 research projects in linguistics and computational linguistics).
