Description:
Well-established language training company seeks qualified individuals to apply for position in a highly competitive, fast-paced environment as the Director of its Foreign Language Division. The Director is responsible for recruiting, training, developing and supervising Language and Culture Instructors, who deliver job-related proficiency-based language training at all levels, beginning to advanced, to adult professionals from the US government and private sector. The Director supervises an administrative team that manages all aspects of running language programs, including business development activities for the company. Candidates must possess professional language training skills in order to direct language training programs and materials development which bring students to high levels of language proficiency in speaking, listening and reading. Candidates must be current in the application of technology to the language learning process and current best practices in the areas of distance learning, classroom and computer-assisted instruction. The Director oversees testing, the design of new courses and/or extensive revisions to existing training courses, as well as monitors and evaluates students' progress in order to ensure that students are meeting their language goals. The Director keeps in close contact with client agencies and promotes the language programs to develop new clients for the company. We are looking for energetic enthusiastic individuals with the following requirements: -Masters Degree in Teaching, Linguistics, Education or related field Knowledge and skills in foreign language curriculum design, teacher training and classroom pedagogy, and student counseling -Supervisory and/or management knowledge and/or abilities -Experience with Federal Government procurement requirements, especially the Department of Defense and GSA schedule -Experience with project and contract management -Experience in developing technical and pricing proposals for government and private clients -Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English and a foreign language -Knowledge of educational and training technologies and instructional methodologies -Experience in teaching language to adult professionals -Knowledge of proficiency-based language training and testing formats -Knowledge of ILR skill levels -Ability to work in a multicultural setting -Strong interpersonal skills -Strong leadership qualities
