This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for three years as Head of School, with a substantive continuing position as Professor (Level E) or Associate Professor (Level D). The role: The Head of School is a key leadership role within the University. The Head of School is responsible for the performance of the School including teaching and learning outcomes; research and external engagement; financial planning; and staffing. The appointee will be the key ambassador for the School and University to all relevant external stakeholders and education bodies. He/she will have the opportunity to make a key contribution to the development of the School and its future growth at the University. This, combined with the lifestyle that the region offers, would suggest that this is an outstanding opportunity for a senior academic. The person: The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight of all missions of the School of Languages and Linguistics, including teaching and learning, research and service. The Head of School will possess strong visionary, strategic and collegial management skills with a capacity to excel in a multicultural, multilingual environment. The successful candidate will also have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the stature and expertise to build top-level relationships with all stakeholders. Salary: A base salary from AUD $108,248 to $119,256 for Associate Professor or AUD $139,439 for Professor per annum with a Head of School loading, and an employer superannuation contribution of 17% of base salary will be offered.
