SiN provides a possibility for graduate students (PhD, MA, MSc, MPhil) working in various theoretical frameworks to present their ongoing research on semantics. Call For Papers The Nijmegen Centre for Language Studies (CLS, Radboud University Nijmegen) presents the Eighth Semantics in the Netherlands Day (SiN VIII). SiN provides a possibility for graduate students (PhD, MA, MSc, MPhil) working in various theoretical frameworks to present their ongoing research on semantics. Topics include, but are not limited to: - semantics analysis and cognition - semantics-pragmatics interface - semantics-syntax interface - semantic change - semantics and discourse - semantics and logic - computational semantics - semantics in language acquisition SiN VIII will take place on Friday, 5 November at the Radboud University Nijmegen. The keynote speaker this year will be Henk Zeevat (Department of Computational Linguistics/ ILLC University of Amsterdam). We cordially invite graduate students affiliated to any of the Dutch universities to present their current research. In order to do so, please send a short abstract (max. 500 words) as an MS Word file or PDF file to sin8nijmegen gmail.com. Please specify in the body of the e-mail: - the title of your presentation - the name and contact address of the author(s) The deadline for submission is 17 September 2010. Notifications of acceptance will be sent around 30 September. Time allotted for presentations is 20 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of discussion.
