Description:
The French and Italian Department at Dartmouth College seeks a Language Program Director. Five-year renewable contract as Senior Lecturer. Duties involve curriculum development and maintenance. Supervision of coordinators, lecturers, and undergraduate Teaching Apprentices. Qualifications should include: advanced degree in second language acquisition, Education, French and/or Italian applied linguistics; near-native knowledge and proven experience teaching one of the languages, with proficiency in the other; commitment to innovation and excellence in foreign language pedagogy theory and methodologies. Must be an effective team leader, able to work productively with all members of the department to integrate language, culture, and literature curriculum at all levels, including our ten yearly study programs in France and Italy. Professional engagement within Dartmouth and beyond is expected, and development of scholarly profile is encouraged.
