The programme will include plenary lectures, parallel sessions and workshops. Call For Papers Organized by the research group LEXESP (Department of English, University of Alicante, Spain) Organizers: Isabel Balteiro and Marián Alesón (convenors), José Ramón Belda, José Ramón Calvo, Miguel Ángel Campos, and Raquel Martínez Motos Invited Speakers (who have already confirmed their participation): Ricardo Mairal (UNED) Paula López Rúa (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela) We have great pleasure in inviting you to participate in the Second International Seminar on English and English for Specific Purposes Lexicology and Lexicography that will be held in the University of Alicante (Spain) from 25th to 27th November 2010. The Seminar aims to bring together specialists in Lexicology and Lexicography, professional lexicographers, researchers, and postgraduate students interested in English Lexicology and Lexicography and Academic and Professional Language. The programme will include plenary lectures, parallel sessions and workshops. We would like to invite researchers to submit original, unpublished 20- minute contributions (papers, software demonstrations, R&D projects) as well as posters, or proposals for round tables and workshops, on the following topics: -Specialized Lexis/Lexicology -Specialized Dictionaries -General Dictionaries Structure and Composition -Bilingual (English-Spanish) Lexicography -Computational Lexicography and Lexicology -English Historical and Scholarly Lexicography and Etymology -Dictionary Use -Word-formation processes in general and professional English -Terminology and Terminography -Phraseology and Collocation Note that other proposals related to the teaching of English lexis or vocabulary considering English as either L2 or Lingua Franca may also be considered. Proposals: Proposals should include the following data: 1) Author's name, institutional affiliation, academic status, address, phone/fax and e-mail. 2) Short bio-bibliography 3) Title of paper 4) Abstract: 250-500 words. It should be written in Times New Roman 12 point-font, single-spaced, and be submitted in Word or RTF format via attachment to the e-mail address lexesp ua.es 5) Audio-visual or other equipment that you may require for your presentation Note that individual papers should be scheduled for a maximum of 20 minutes, allowing 10 for discussion. The language of the Conference and proposals will be preferably English but papers in Spanish may also be accepted. Important Deadlines: Abstracts should be submitted before 20th September 2010.
