The teaching load, in addition to coordination duties, is 18 credit hours per year (generally 3 classes per semester involving 2 preparations). The nine-month non-tenure track appointment is renewable annually. Minimum qualification for the successful candidate is MA in Spanish; PhD in Applied Linguistics or Second Language Acquisition and experience coordinating a beginning language program is preferred. Native or native-like proficiency in both Spanish and English is required, and experience or interest in instructional technology highly desirable. The salary range is $35,000 to $40,000 a year commensurate with qualifications.
