The workshop is organized by the bilateral project CAPES/COFECUB 2008-2012 Bare Nouns in Brazilian Portuguese at the syntax-semantics interface, between the Université Paris Diderot (resp. Carmen Dobrovie-Sorin) and the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (resp. The goal of the workshop is to increase the understanding of the structural and referential properties of bare nominals across languages; we invite submissions of abstracts bearing on any aspect of the syntax and semantics of BNs, both in a language-specific and a crosslinguistic perspective. The official languages of the workshop are English and French.
