The Department of Linguistics of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure track position in syntax at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commencing July 1, 2011. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in linguistics, specializing in syntax, with evidence of research capabilities commensurate with experience. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach in both English and French within a specified period of time. For more detail on our programs, please visit our web site above. The salary is determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Applicants should submit a CV, representative samples of their research, and arrange for three (3) letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Dr. Marie-Hélène Côté, Chair, Department of Linguistics. All documents should preferably be sent by email to mhcote uottawa.ca, with originals of letters of recommendation also sent by mail to the postal address below. This address can also be used whenever email is not convenient. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority. Les candidats doivent détenir un doctorat en linguistique avec spécialisation en syntaxe et démontrer des capacités de recherche correspondant à leur expérience. La préférence sera accordée aux candidats capables d'enseigner en anglais et en français à l'intérieur d'un délai déterminé.
