This event also constitutes the 8th Annual OSU Martin Luther King Day Linguistics Symposium. The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers working on evidentiality from descriptive, formal semantic, cross-linguistic and/or historical perspectives, with the goal of fostering a cross-disciplinary and cross-linguistic discussion of evidentials and evidential systems. The workshop will feature several local (OSU) speakers as well as several outside invited speakers (see the Call for Papers), and will also consist of additional paper and poster presentations solicited through a call for papers. 2nd Call for Papers The Department of Linguistics at The Ohio State University is pleased to announce the Evidentials Fest, a workshop dedicated to evidentiality, to be held on January 14 and 15, 2011, in Columbus, Ohio. Instructions for abstract submission We invite abstracts for oral presentations (20 minute presentation plus 10 minute for discussion) or posters on any topic with relevance to evidentiality. Please indicate on the top of your abstract which format you would like to be considered for (i.e. presentation, poster, presentation + poster), as well as the title of the presentation/poster and the name(s) of the author(s). Abstracts are not to exceed two pages in letter-size (8.5''x 11'') paper, including examples and references, with 1'' margins on all sides and 12pt font size. The abstract must in PDF format. Please submit your abstract by sending it to evidentials ling.osu.edu by 11:59pm (EST) of November 1, 2010.
