Dear colleagues, We are happy to introduce the Foundation for Fundamental Linguistic Research, the first Russian non-governmental organisation established to support linguistic research. The Foundation aims at financing projects of Russian scholars living both in Russia and abroad, in various fields of linguistics, including the publication of scientific papers and periodicals, field trips for describing the languages of the world, organising international scientific events, and compiling electronic databases and language corpora. The Foundation grants are allocated on a yearly tender basis according to the selection by the Supervisory Board led by Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Prof. Vyacheslav V. Ivanov. The reporting year starts 01 June and ends 31 May. The tender process for the 2011/12 year starts 01 November 2010 and will last until 01 February 2011. More information on the Foundation, its bylaws, and contacts can be found at http://www.ffli.ru. There, you can also submit your application. The electronic feedback form is ready to receive your questions or remarks, and you can also subscribe to the Foundation’s news listserv with it. Welcome to the Foundation for Fundamental Linguistic Research! Sincerely, Kirill Babaev Executive Director on behalf of the Supervisory Board http://www.ffli.ru
