In order to develop more effective medicines and communication materials for patients and physicians, the healthcare industry requires more insightful customer data. Our Analytics Group applies methods of linguistic, conversation and ethnographic analysis to physician-patient interactions, delivering deep insights about the way physicians and patients manage discussions pertaining to diagnosis and treatment of a variety of health conditions. Our work identifies, describes and evaluates the relationship between physician-patient attitudinal and emotional characteristics and health behaviors and outcomes. Verilogue is seeking consultants with formal training in applied linguistics, particularly with discourse and conversation analysis, experience in qualitative marketing research or a similar discipline, and deep cultural understanding along with native language skills in at least one of the following EU countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, or UK. Consultants may work remotely (e.g., in Germany, France or England) and are not required to be eligible to work in the US. Primary Responsibilities -Analyze large bodies of conversational data to provide insight into: -Interactional dynamics -Physician and patient emotional and attitudinal profiles -Uses of conceptual metaphor and descriptive analogies -Disease and product sentiment -Brand positioning -Develop strategic reports and presentations -Lead client workshops and report presentations -Work with team members and management to enhance existing analytical modules and develop new, innovate modules to support new product/service offerings -Support cross-functional project management and delivery Key Competencies -Competent in the principles of applied linguistics and ethno methodology -Understanding of or interest in the health care industry -Familiar with qualitative marketing research -Strong writing skills -Native speaker of German, French, Spanish (Spain), or English (UK) -Competent communicator in English (American or UK) in person, by email or on the telephone -Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines -Sense of initiative and the ability to undertake and successfully conclude projects with minimal supervision -Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel Candidate Qualifications -3-5 years experience in a professional business environment, including 1-2 years in qualitative market research, product marketing, or strategic communications / public relations -Master's degree with advanced coursework in applied linguistics -Able to travel 10 - 20% -Superb presentation skills -Publication and conference presentation history is a plus Compensation Consultants will work as independent contractors and are not employees of Verilogue. Verilogue provides an hourly rate of $30 to $60 depending upon skills, experience and ability. Projects will vary in duration and may last from a few weeks to several months.
