Abstract: Given the growing interest of both Brazilian and foreign researchers in the correlation between grammaticalization and construction grammar studies, the proposal for this thematic volume aims at stimulating the debate on this new research field by the proposition of some main questions which must be addressed by any research in this area. Hence, we will looking forward to receive paper from linguists who are interested in grammaticalization of constructions and whose work answers all or some of the following questions: (a) how the term 'construction' may be defined in such an approach; (b) how the term 'grammaticalization' may be understood in such an approach; (c) whether it is possible to consider grammaticalization as a unidirectional linear process, organized in clines; and (d) how to bring together the notion of the radial organization of grammar and the grammaticalization paradigm.
