The conference is aimed at: - Support and intensification of the research in the field of Information Retrieval in Russia; - Creation of the young scientists community in the field of Information Retrieval, broadening the network of the interuniversity relations between researchers working in this field; - Helping young scientists in mastering public scientific speaking at the conferences and workshops, discussing works with participation of the specialists in Information Retrieval. Graduate and postgraduate students, young researchers from academia and industry (under 27 years old), working in the field of Information Retrieval are welcome to participate in the conference. Call for Papers IV Russian Summer School in Information Retrieval (RuSSIR) will be held September 13-18, 2010 in Voronezh, Russia. The school is co-organized by the Russian Information Retrieval Evaluation Seminar (ROMIP, http://romip.ru/en/index.html), Voronezh State University (VSU, http://www.vsu.ru/english) The mission of the school is to make students familiar with a wide range of modern problems and methods in Information Retrieval; to attract students and young researchers to the field of the Information Retrieval; to stimulate scientific research in the field and to create a site for informal contacts among scientists, students and industry professionals. The main program of the school consists of five week-long courses. The school will host approximately 100 participants this year. The official languages of the school are English and Russian. Young Scientists Conference is an important part of the School in Information Retrieval Graduate and postgraduate students, young researchers from academia and industry (under 27 years old), working in the field of Information Retrieval are welcome to participate in the conference. Submitted papers should describe original work and should not be published or in press or be submitted to other conferences or workshops. General topics of the conference: - Theory and models of Information Retrieval - Algorithms and data structures for Information Retrieval - Text Information Retrieval - Multimedia search - Text processing in Information Retrieval tasks - User interfaces for Information Retrieval - Web search - Fact extraction, text mining - Methods of the Information Retrieval evaluation and others. - Social networks - Document Tracking and Filtering - Link Mining - Query Analysis - Classification and Clustering Papers should be submitted in Russian or English and should not exceed 10 pages (please, follow the template). The submission form will be opened on this site from 15th February. All the submitted papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee with the assistance of external reviewers. The authors of the selected papers will be invited to the conference to present their work in poster sessions with short presentations. We also plan to publish the proceedings of the conference. Important Dates: - 22th February 2010: Paper submission opening - 10th May 2010: Paper submission deadline - 21st June 2010: Notification of acceptance - 12th July 2010: Camera-ready papers due Participation in the conference is not a requirement for the participation in the 4th Russian Summer School in Information Retrieval. However, authors of the papers will have preferences when considering school participation.
