Call for Papers We are pleased to announce that the 16th Symposium on Modern Chinese Grammar will be held at the City University of Hong Kong on 8-10 June 2010, Hong Kong, China. The symposium is jointly organized by the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Department of Chinese, Translation & Linguistics, City University of Hong Kong, and co-sponsored by the Commercial Press, Beijing Language University, and the Linguistic Society of Hong Kong. The 16th symposium is intended to be a forum to stimulate academic discussions around the following themes: (a) Content Word Classification and Cross-Classification (b) Focus and Quantification We cordially invite submission of abstracts representing original research dealing with issues related to the above themes and other areas of modern Chinese grammar. Abstract submission is by email-attachment only and should be in WORD or PDF format. We DO NOT accept submissions by postal mail. Abstract selection is based on anonymous review. TWO copies of your abstract should be sent to Peppina LEE at ctpllee cityu.edu.hk, one copy without your name and affiliation, and the other copy with your name, affiliation, corresponding address and email address. Moreover, selected papers presented at the symposium will be included for publication in Research and Exploration on Grammar (16) published by the Commercial Press, Beijing.
