LUCL Leiden, the Italian department of the University of Leiden, and the Marie Curie Foundation are happy to announce the first Italian (Dialects) in Diachrony conference (IDD) to be held at the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics on May 19-21, 2011.

The conference aims to create a platform for discussion between scholars looking at the diachrony of Italian and Italian dialects from different points of view.

LUCL Leiden, il Dipartimento di Italiano dell’Università di Leiden e la Fondazione Marie Curie sono lieti di annunciare che il primo convegno Italian (Dialects) in Diachrony (IDD) avrà luogo presso il Leiden University Centre for Linguistics dal 19 al 21 maggio 2011.

Il convegno si prefigge di creare una piattaforma di discussione tra gli studiosi di Storia della Lingua Italiana e Grammatica Storica dell'italiano e dei dialetti d'Italia appartenenti a scuole di pensiero diverse, allo scopo di integrare descrizione e teoria dei fenomeni studiati.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for discussion) on any aspect of the history of Italian or Italian dialects. The conference languages are English and Italian. Authors are asked to submit their abstracts via Easy Abstracts (http://linguistlist.org/confcustom/IDD2011). Abstracts should be anonymous and are not to exceed two pages in length (including examples and references), 12-point type. Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author, or 2 joint abstracts per author. Abstracts should arrive no later than 1 March 2011. Speakers will be notified of the results of their abstract review by March 22 2011.

Those interested in attending IDD2011, whether presenting a paper or not, should send an e-mail to Claudio Di Felice at c.di.felicehum.leidenuniv.nl by May 1 2011 to register. Further information (including accommodation) will be provided in due course on our website: http://www.hum.leiden.edu/lucl/IDD.

Oltre ai relatori invitati, saranno selezionate altre presentazioni tramite il metodo di blind review. Gli interessati sono pertanto invitati ad inviare riassunti in forma anonima, in formato .pdf o .doc, tramite il sito EasyAbstract (http://linguistlist.org/confcustom/IDD2011) entro e non oltre il 1 marzo 2011. I riassunti non dovranno superare le 2 pagine (carattere 12), compresi gli esempi e i riferimenti bibliografici. Ogni relatore avrà a disposizione 20 minuti per la presentazione più 10 minuti per le domande. La notifica dell'accettazione verrà data entro il 22 marzo 2011. Le lingue della conferenza sono l'inglese e l'italiano. Le presentazioni sono limitate ad un lavoro individuale e/o un lavoro congiunto oppure a due lavori congiunti.
