SULA-bar (The Semantics of Under-represented Languages outside the
Americas) is a pre-event to SULA 6 (The Semantics of Under-represented
Languages in the Americas, URL:
http://ulwa.humanities.manchester.ac.uk/sula6/).

SULA-bar aims to bring together researchers working on languages or
dialects spoken outside of the Americas which do not have an established
tradition of work in formal semantics. Research presented at this event
should involve primary fieldwork or experimentation as well as high-level
theoretical analysis.

SULA-bar is organized by Martina Faller and Andrew Koontz-Garboden at
the Department of Linguistics and English Language at The University of
Manchester.

Call For Papers

We invite submissions of abstracts for papers (20-minute presentation plus
10-minute discussion) on any topic in the semantics of under-represented
languages. Please only submit papers on languages outside the Americas
to this event. Papers on languages of the Americas should be submitted to
SULA 6. Submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per
author, or 2 joint abstracts per author.

Abstracts must be at most two pages long (including data and references)
on a A4 sheet with 2cm margins and typed in at least 11-point font.
Abstracts are anonymous, so all authors' names must be absent from all
pages. We will accept electronic submissions only. Abstracts must be
submitted online via Easy Abstract at Linguist List at the following address:

Submission deadline: 6 February 2011
Notification of acceptance: 13 March 2011
