Description:
One quota ESRC studentship is available for the academic year commencing September 2010. ESRC provide up to four years full funding for postgraduate training. They cover tuition fees and include a full maintenance grant. We will consider applications for 1 + 3 quota studentships for the MSc in Neuroscience, Language and Communication followed by PhD research within the Department of Developmental Science or Language and Communication. We will also consider applicants who have completed relevant Masters-level training for a 3 year PhD studentship within one of these two Departments. For details of the research activities of staff in these Research Departments go to: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/psychlangsci/research/developmental_science http://www.ucl.ac.uk/psychlangsci/research/langcomm Applicants should send a CV, covering letter and the names and email addresses of two referees to Natalie Wilkins at n.wilkins ucl.ac.uk The covering letter should include an outline of the applicant's principle research interests. Applications for the 3 year PhD studentships only must also outline a plan of intended research. Ideally, this plan should have been discussed with a potential supervisor based in one of the two Research Departments at UCL. All applications are subject to nationality and residency restrictions and applicants are also asked to indicate in their submission that they meet the ESRC nationality and residency requirements. These requirements and other information are available on the ESRC website: http://www.esrcsocietytoday.ac.uk/ESRCInfoCentre/opportunities/postgraduate/studentships/standard/Quota.aspx which applicants are strongly advised to consult when completing their application.
