The Department of Modern Languages, Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the
University of Al-Albayt, in collaboration with the Agence universitaire de la
Francophonie is honored to invite you to participate in the Second Jordanian
International Francophone Conference entitled "The International Critical
Reception of A Thousand and One Nights"in the fields of humanities to be held at
the University of Al-Albayt on 13-14 April 2011.
Languages of Participation: French, English and Arabic.
The Second Jordanian International Francophone Conference entitled "The
International Critical Reception of A Thousand and One Nights in the fields of
human sciences" follows the first international conference of "Interculturality
in the classroom learning" held at Al-Albayt University in 2006. It aims to
achieve more global and cultural interaction and to invoice and arouse new
questions about the book of A Thousand and One Nights that originates from rich
and variable cultural sources and considered a part of the global human
cultural heritage due to its translations into many languages.

Après le colloque consacré à l'interculturalité en 2006 , l'Université Al-Albayt
de Mafraq, organise en collaboration avec l'Agence Universitaire de la
Francophonie (AUF) le deuxième colloque francophone international de Jordanie.
Il aura lieu les 13 et 14 avril 2011 et sera consacré à la réception mondiale
et transdisciplinaire des Mille et une Nuits.
Aux côtés de Petra la belle qui brille de ses mille (et un) feux ocre et roses,
Mafraq, ville carrefour du nord-est, au cœur des terres bédouines, se veut le
lieu d'une réflexion ouverte à tous sur une part de sa culture ancestrale.
Œuvre riche et influente, aux sources des plus disparates, le recueil de contes
des Mille et une Nuits oblige critique littéraire à une perpétuelle remise en
question de ses démonstrations. Le recueil est un intarissable puits
d'inspiration qui s'offre aujourd'hui aux chercheurs du XXIe siècle.
Call for Papers
The artistic, intellectual, cultural, psychological, and taboo reservoir of
information makes the captivating book of A Thousand and One Nights subject to
re-reading in terms of its intrinsic value and its influence upon Translation,
Criticism, and intertextuality as well as its influence upon world literature,
Gender studies, Feminist Literature, Children Literature, Comics, Japanese Manga
Art, Fine Arts, Music, Drama, Cinema, Televised Films, and Cartoons particularly
when the book is considered using contemporary critical theory and reader
reception theory.
Conditions:
1. The research should be genuine and authentic.
2. The research should not exceed twelve pages.
3. The research should be written in a scholarly academic fashion.
4. The abstract should be about 250-300 words.
5. The deadline for receiving the abstracts is 15/06/2010.
6. The deadline for receiving the finished articles is 15/08/2010.
7. Articles can be sent via e-mail or saved on CDs and posted.
8. The researcher will be informed of the jury decision by 15/11/2010.
9. The following information should be included in the abstract paper:
Researchers Name, Academic Degree, Nationality, Workplace, Landline or Mobile
Number, and e-mail.

Notes:
- The University of Al-Albayt covers the accommodation, catering, and
transportation expenses for participants coming from outside Jordan during the
conference days and only covers the catering expenses for participants from
within Jordan.
- Conference fees are 50 JDs or 75 USDs paid by non-Jordanian participants.

Organisé par le Département des Langues Modernes de l'Université Al-Albayt, ce
colloque s'inscrit dans la lignée des nombreuses recherches à l'intérieur comme
à l'extérieur du littéraire et s'oriente moins vers des bilans que vers des
perspectives interdisciplinaires, interculturelles et comparatistes.
Sans être exhaustif, il définit plusieurs pistes pluridisciplinaires de
recherches et d'approches des Mille et une Nuits : réception, traduction,
critique, adaptation et influence dans la littérature (littérature féminine et
féministe, littérature enfantine, BD, manga...), les beaux-arts, la musique, le
théâtre, le cinéma (films et dessins animés) et la télévision?
S'adressant à des chercheurs du monde entier, le colloque se propose de réaliser
un inventaire des réalisations littéraires et artistiques les plus importantes,
à l'échelle internationale autour de thématiques à l'impact toujours renouvelé :
le féminin, la sexualité, la beauté, le tabou...

Modalités de Participation
Les propositions de communication d'une longueur de 5000 signes maximum devront
comporter un titre, 5 mots clefs, 5 références bibliographiques et les nom,
qualité et adresse électronique de l'auteur. Elles devront parvenir avant le 31
août 2010 par courrier électronique en document attaché Word au coordinateur
général du colloque, Waël Rabadi à l'adresse : milletunuitsyahoo.fr
Les interventions se feront sur la base de 20 minutes suivies de 10 minutes
réservées aux questions.
Les langues du colloque seront le français, l'anglais et l'arabe.
Les participants recevront le 30 octobre 2010 au plus tard notification de leur
participation au colloque.
Les Actes seront publiés en français, après une sélection des communications
par le Comité scientifique. Les articles rédigés en arabe et en anglais qui
seront retenus pour la publication seront donc traduits en français.
Frais de participation : 50 JD (environ 50 euros)
