Research staff position at Radboud University Nijmegen, Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, & Centre for Language Studies. The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (in particular, its Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging) and the Centre for Language Studies (Faculty of Arts) are seeking to fill a research staff position. The position has an initial term for 3 years, with the possibility of extension on the basis of successful grant applications. The staff researcher is specialized in cognitive neuroimaging research that is explicitly related to language. Candidates with a language-related specialism in multilingualism are especially encouraged to apply. Job description The candidate's daily working environment is the Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging, where he/she will carry out an independent research project. A special aim of the position is that the candidate will promote and facilitate collaborative research projects broached by language researchers in the Centre for Language Studies, by liaising between them and fellow researchers at the DCCN. Job requirements -A Ph.D in one of the relevant fields, showing demonstrable affinity with language and linguistics research -competitive publication record in the field(s) of expertise -demonstrable experience with research techniques in the area of cognitive neuroscience -demonstrable experience with language research (with some preference for multilingualism) -interested in making connections between cognitive neuroscience and linguistics The position is tenable as soon as possible. The Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging (DCCN) At the DCCN, the researcher has free access to state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities (1.5T, 3T, 7T MRI, whole-head MEG, EEG, TMS, behavioral labs). The research of the centre covers major areas of cognitive neuroscience, as well as cognitive neuroscience methods. Centre for Language Studies (CLS) Research in the Centre for Language Studies combines linguistically informed inspiration with a strong empirical and experimental orientation, and is explicitly interdisciplinary in nature, with the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour as collaborative partners. Applicants should send the following before March 30 2011: an application letter, a curriculum vitae, a two-page description of research plans in the context of this position, a list of publications, and the names of two persons that can provide references.
