The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to engage in non-discriminatory hiring practices. We urge employers not to discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international employment page at http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, & Centre for Language Studies.

The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (in particular,
its Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging) and the Centre for Language Studies
(Faculty of Arts) are seeking to fill a research staff position. The
position has an initial term for 3 years, with the possibility of extension

to language. Candidates with a language-related specialism in
multilingualism are especially encouraged to apply.

Job description
The candidate's daily working environment is the Donders Centre for
Cognitive Neuroimaging, where he/she will carry out an independent research
project. A special aim of the position is that the candidate will promote
and facilitate collaborative research projects broached by language
researchers in the Centre for Language Studies, by liaising between them
and fellow researchers at the DCCN.

Job requirements
-A Ph.D in one of the relevant fields, showing demonstrable affinity with
language and linguistics research
-competitive publication record in the field(s) of expertise
-demonstrable experience with research techniques in the area of cognitive
neuroscience
-demonstrable experience with language research (with some preference for
multilingualism)
-interested in making connections between cognitive neuroscience and
linguistics

The position is tenable as soon as possible.

The Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging (DCCN)
At the DCCN, the researcher has free access to state-of-the-art
neuroimaging facilities (1.5T, 3T, 7T MRI, whole-head MEG, EEG, TMS,
behavioral labs). The research of the centre covers major areas of
cognitive neuroscience, as well as cognitive neuroscience methods.

Centre for Language Studies (CLS)
Research in the Centre for Language Studies combines linguistically
informed inspiration with a strong empirical and experimental orientation,
and is explicitly interdisciplinary in nature, with the Max Planck
Institute for Psycholinguistics and the Donders Institute for Brain,
Cognition and Behaviour as collaborative partners.

Applicants should send the following before March 30 2011: an application
letter, a curriculum vitae, a two-page description of research plans in the
