Meeting Description:
The Middelburg School of Rhetoric, the first annual PALA Student Summer
School, will take place from the 15th to the 19th August 2011 at the
Roosevelt Academy in Middelburg, the Netherlands.
The themes for this year's event will be: Narrative, Stylistics and Emotion.
Guest lecturers will include:
- Professor Paul Simpson (Queen's University, Belfast),
- Professor Michael Toolan (University of Birmingham)
- Emeritus Professor Peter Verdonk (University of Amsterdam).
The event is organised by the Chair of PALA, Dr. Michael Burke (Roosevelt
Academy). Full details can be found on the website of the Poetics and
Linguistics Association (PALA).

Please note that only 25 places are available and these will be allocated on
a 'first paid, first served' basis. The fees for the summer school have been
limited this year to just 300 Euros per person.

that the EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is
generally a simple administrative procedure that doubles the value of your
gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment
to check if your company operates such a program.
