Subject: Tone of Noun Roots

I have recently been analysing the tones of noun roots in Kabiye, a Gur
language of Togo. It seems that the best way of explaining the facts is to
posit that noun class suffixes are toneless and the melody of the noun root
associates to the whole word.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has come across this in other
languages, especially published analyses.
