Meeting Description:
CINEO2011 is addressed to researchers, students, public and private institutions and people interested in lexical creation and in the development of the lexicon of the Romance languages. The changes that occur in social groups are reflected in the lexicon of all languages and these languages need to create new words in order to name scientific, artistic, economic and social facts that affect a language in a given moment of its history. The vitality of the Romance languages will be specially discussed in this Congress.
Call for Papers: Contributions (in Catalan, French, Galician, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Romanian) to the central questions are welcome. Submission Guidelines: Proposals for papers and posters on a theme of the Congress, in any Romance language, should be sent before June 15, 2011. Presentations are set at 20 minutes. They will be followed by 10 minutes of debate. Presentations as posters will have a specific space for exhibition and public debate. Abstracts should be between 250 and 300 words (between 1700 and 2000 characters, including spaces) and must be submitted electronically via the submission form for abstracts on our website. All papers will be evaluated by three members of the scientific committee. The result of the evaluation will be communicated to the authors during the month of July 2011. Authors whose papers or posters will receive a positive evaluation should make their Conference registration.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
