Meeting Description:

The I International Meeting on Syntax and Semantics and their Interfaces (I Encontro Internacional de Sintaxe e Semântica e Suas Interfaces) will be held from August 25 - 26, 2011, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The first topic of this meeting will be the syntax and semantics of time.

All participants must register on the event website by August 17, 2011. After this date, registrations can only be done at the Events Department on the main campus of PUCRS, building 40, room 201. Hours are from Monday to Friday from 8am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 7pm. Telephone for contact is 3320.3680 and email is proexsecretariapucrs.br

Call for Papers:

We invite abstracts for oral presentations (twenty (20) minute presentation and ten (10) minute discussion) as well as posters on any topic related to the syntax and semantics of time. Abstracts should be strictly anonymous and should not exceed two (2) pages, including examples and references.

Abstract Submission:

Abstracts must be submitted electronically in word or pdf format to eissi.pucrsgmail.com. The subject should read 'abstract submission' and the body of the message should include the following information: author name; affiliation, email. The email should also indicate whether the abstract is to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster presentation.

Papers and presentations will be accepted in English and Portuguese.

Notification of acceptance: June 30, 2011
