The conference encourages participants to explore how Christian faith shapes their vocation as English language teachers and scholars. It gives participants an opportunity to explore how their Christian faith informs, impacts, or infuses: - Classroom practice in diverse settings and contexts; - The language learning process and the language learner; - Research of language, teaching, and learning; - Views toward language rights, language policies, world Englishes; - Curriculum that facilitates personal growth and social change.
Call for Papers: You are invited to submit a proposal for the 9th Christians in English Language Teaching (CELT) Conference to be held January 27-29, 2012 at the Chinese University, Hong Kong. This year's theme is 'Exploring the Vocation of English Language Teaching and Scholarship.' Early submissions are highly recommended and are due by June 15, 2011. Late proposals must be submitted no later than August 1, 2011. Participants will be notified on September 15, 2011. To complete the proposal form, please respond to each of the questions and read the written information carefully as these sections include important details. You must complete a separate form for each session you wish to present. However, DO NOT submit the same/similar proposals in two different categories as duplicate proposals will be disqualified. If you have difficulties completing this form, please e-mail the Program Committee.
