Description:
Up to four post-doc positions in computer science are available at the Natural Language Processing Centre (NLPC) at Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Brno. The positions are initially limited to one year but can be extended to two years based on a successful evaluation after the first 8 months. The gross salary will be 2,000 EUR per month. Anticipated starting date is September 1, 2011 (can be negotiated) and preference will be given to those who can start by Autumn 2011. Applicants should have (by the starting date) a PhD in computer science, computational linguistics or a closely related discipline and ideally will have a strong background in one of the research activities carried out at the NLPC, namely: - corpus linguistics - lexicography - syntax and syntactic analysis - ontologies and semantic analysis - machine translation - logical analysis The willingness to contribute to the teaching programme of the NLPC by means of a specialized course is welcome. The applicants should enjoy working in a team and have good communication skills. Fluency in English is required. In order to encourage mobility, the candidate cannot be considered eligible for this position if by the starting date, he or she has already worked or studied at Masaryk University for a total of 6 months or more, during the last 3 years. Candidates who did not graduate from a university in the Czech Republic will be strongly preferred. The positions are open until filled.
