Two groups of specialists he appealed to were 1) specialists in dialinguistics, and 2) specialists in glottopolitics. My spell-checker doesn't like the look of either of those! How widespread do these names remain as descriptions of subdisciplines of Linguistics, and what do people understand by them by contrast with e.g. historical linguistics and language politics respectively?
