Meeting Description:
We are glad to invite you to the international congress which the Alteritas Project will be hosting 1-2 December 2011 at the Seminario Vescovile in Verona and at the Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sass (SASS) in Trento. The theme of the meeting is: ‘Mixed Marriages: A Way to Social Integration among People’. Mixed-marriage relationships deserve a special attention for their role in dialect construction and identity. The investigation of cross-dialectal and cross-linguistic marriages explores how dialect practices and choices are negotiated between partners and toward the children. The aim of the congress is to provide an opportunity for researchers to debate about this theme and to exchange information from different disciplines and showing cases both from the past and the present.
Call for Papers: Delegates of all disciplines who are interested to make a paper presentation are invited to send a 300-words abstract and a short bio note by 15 July. All languages of the European community are allowed. Instruction for oral/ poster presentation will be sent to presenting authors of the accepted abstracts. The proceedings of the meeting will be published on a volume and on-line. Contact the scientific coordinator of Alteritas, Dr. Simona Marchesini for more information.
