We are looking for student interns to help improve the linguistic coverage of a new IBM product, IBM Cognos Consumer Insight (CCI). CCI is a product that allows companies to track company and product reputation in Web 2.0 media. For example, companies can analyze how their product reputation is doing over time in comparison to the competition's products. The intern will help to extend the coverage of our linguistic analysis. We are using essentially rule-based techniques to extract relevant information from natural language web texts. We are looking for native or near-native speakers of one of the following languages: Spanish, Portugese, Russian, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish To apply, students should have: - Fluent English (in addition to one of the languages of interest) - A computational linguistics background, - Knowledge of regular expressions, formal grammars or other rule-based systems - Knowledge of Java is a plus, but not strictly required Application Deadline: Open until filled.
