We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate. In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query. To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.cfm.

Dear colleagues, As part of my dissertation at the Institute for German Language in Mannheim, I am investigating the needs of users with regard to dictionary illustrations and how illustrated online dictionaries are used. There has been little research in this field so far. Therefore I am carrying out an online survey at present. I would be glad if you supported my research by taking part in this study. The survey which is prepared in German and in English will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. It can be accessed through the following link from any web browser until 31st August 2011: http://www.unipark.de/uc/Umfrage_Illustrationen_im_Onlinewoerterbuch / To thank you for your participation you may enter a prize draw for 10 Amazon vouchers each worth 10 euros. Furthermore, I would be grateful if you could forward this e-mail or the access link to persons who might be interested in participating (e. g. colleagues or students). Thank you for supporting my research! Yours sincerely, Katharina Kemmer, M.A. (Institute for German Language, Mannheim/Germany)
