Artificial Solutions develops and implements the worlds most humanlike,
intelligent and capable Virtual Assistants, that allow intelligent conversations
between people and computers to be held in 21 different languages across
multiple channels. Our team of 110 employees in Europe helps organizations
improve customer experience and reduce the cost of online service.
Our clients include many blue chip companies and organizations such as
IKEA, Orange, Telenor, Slovenian Tax Department, Swedish Social Security
Agency, Scandinavian Airlines, Credit Suisse, WeBank Italy and NTT Japan.
The founder and previous CEO is now expanding the business into Latin
America, with focus on Brazil, and is currently recruiting the initial core team
to be led by a Senior Knowledge Engineer.
The Senior Knowledge Engineer will play a key role in developing the
Brazilian-Portuguese knowledge bases and making the company as
successful in Brazil and the rest of Latin America as we are in Europe.
The successful candidate should have a strong computational linguistics
background, native Brazilian-Portuguese and fluent English. Programming
skills and fluency in Spanish are important advantages.
The location of our Knowledge Engineering center in Brazil is not yet decided
but will likely be either in Rio de Janeiro, São Carlos or Porto Alegre.
With the help of your team, build and deliver high quality and easily
maintainable Knowledge Bases that is the base for allowing our solutions to
be humanlike, intelligent and capable.
As a key building block for these client specific Knowledge Bases, you will
develop a high quality, well structured and relevant Basic Brazilian-
Portuguese (in the future also Latin American Spanish and English)
Knowledge Base and domain specific knowledge libraries.
Tasks and Tools:
- Together with the business consultants, work with the client to identify what
knowledge and what functions need to be included in the knowledge base in
order to meet the project goals.
- Design the knowledge structure in order to ensure smooth implementation
- Draw up the knowledge structure with knowledge flows and dialogue flows
that also include the answer strategy to be applied to each issue and flow.
- Build the interpretation capability for each knowledge node by combining
already existing language objects and by coding new language objects.
- Manage the quality assurance process with help of our various QA tools.
- Manage the communication and interaction with the client during the

identify where the knowledge must be improved or where new knowledge
must be added.
- Structure, build and test such improved or added knowledge.
- Identify knowledge and functions that should be included in our basic
knowledge base and in domain specific knowledge bases.
- Design the knowledge structures.
- Build the interpretation capability.
- Develop new language objects
- Develop special functions and features with the purpose of making the NLI
solutions more intelligent, humanlike and capable.
- Assist in the recruitment of Knowledge Engineers.
- Manage and develop the team of Knowledge Engineers.
- Train and coach the Knowledge Engineers in linguistic work and in the
Artificial Solutions tools and methodology.
- Support and supervise the Knowledge Engineers in their project work.
