Description:

A studentship in linguistics at Newcastle University, UK, for 2011 entry, will
be available through the AHRC's Research Preparation Master's scheme for
students undertaking one of our Master's courses in linguistics:

MLitt in Linguistics,
MA in Linguistics and Language Acquisition,
MA in English Language and Linguistics,
MA in Linguistics of European Languages.

This scheme supports students undertaking Master's courses as a foundation for
further research at doctoral level. Full and partial awards are available
through this scheme. A full award (for UK residents only) covers fees and an
annual, tax free stipend of up to £9,490 (2011/12 rates). A partial award (for
students from EU countries) covers fees only. In addition, three bursaries of
£4000 are offered for students applying to the MLitt in Linguistics, the MA in
Linguistics and Language Acquisition, or the MA in English Language and
Linguistics. Students applying to the MA in Linguistics of European Languages
can also apply for a bursary covering the fees.
