Lecturer in Linguistics
School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences

The School of BCSS is seeking to appoint an academic staff member in the
Linguistics discipline. The person must have a demonstrated research profile
and be able to teach a range of units in the general and applied linguistics
program, in areas that complement existing staff strengths.

Applicants must have a PhD in applied linguistics, general linguistics or
another relevant discipline, a demonstrated research profile or clear research
potential, relative to opportunity, demonstrated ability to teach a range of
units, and high-level communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to teach
or supervise in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:
first language acquisition, second language acquisition, quantitative methods
in applied linguistics. Experience in online or distance education could also
be an advantage.

Armidale is a unique country town located on the New England Tablelands. It
is surrounded by world heritage national parks, and is only 2 hours from the
mid north coast. Offering all the facilities of a city, Armidale is well served for
art, music, theatre and school education.
