Meeting Description:
Professional integration is a challenge for language-discordant professionals and their colleagues. The one-day conference presents examples of good practice from different professional perspectives. A parallel seminar on the findings of a European Life Long Learning project focuses on integration for health care professionals. The conference theme is Professional Integration and Communication and addresses the problem of mobile language discordant professionals and more specifically looks at the tools that can be applied to enhance their integration in the new professional environment. Conference participants are expected to exchange ideas for how to provide effective support for this target group. The seminar Integration for Health Care Professionals - The Case of Professional Communication looks at the linguistic challenges medical professionals face. The conference provides a forum for linguistics in contact with language-discordant professionals and hopes to create support networks on the basis of good practice.
