Description:
Assistant Professor of Spanish. Specialist in Spanish usage-based linguistics, applied linguistics or second language acquisition, tenure-track, beginning fall, 2012. PhD in hand by June 2012. Teach 5 courses per year at graduate or undergraduate levels, including introductory Spanish linguistics courses and courses in support of M.A. options in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Commitment to active research profile and service activities. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English. Successful candidate will value diversity in all its dimensions, and consider different cultural perspectives in solving problems in this area. Applications will be reviewed beginning November 1, 2011 and will continue until position is filled. Interviews can be conducted at the MLA convention in Seattle, WA, or the LSA meeting in Portland, OR.
