Description:
The Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Language Instruction in French and an Assistant Director of Language Instruction in Spanish beginning August 16, 2012. Duties to be assigned by the Director of Language Instruction but include assistance in syllabus design, testing, instructor observation, advising, and program evaluation. Minimum Qualifications: M.A. degree or equivalent in Applied Linguistics or related field; demonstrated oral ability at the Superior level using the ACTFL scale; demonstrated organizational and management abilities; demonstrated excellence as language instructors; willingness to work within an articulated program under the Director of Language Instruction; at least 2 years teaching experience at University or College level. Preference given to candidates who are certified ACTFL testers. Interested candidates must complete the online application, upload letter of interest, full curriculum vitae and teaching evaluations from at least four courses, if possible including student ratings and comments.
