We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate. In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query. To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.cfm.

I am writing a PhD thesis on language attitudes at the University of Gdansk, Poland, and I am looking for several university teachers and professors from across Great Britain who could lend me a hand in my research. If you teach students who are native (including bilingual) speakers of British English aged 18 to 25 and you are interested in helping me, please use the link (below) to an online questionnaire. What you can do for me is forward the text with the link and the information to your students and ask them to fill in the questionnaire. No paper forms are necessary and the students can contact me by e- mail concerning any queries or feedback. Thank you in advance. I posted this message here several months ago but with little success. Please forgive me for writing the same thing again. To Whom it may Concern: I am conducting research into language attitudes for my PhD thesis. I am looking for native speakers of British English aged 18 to 25 who would like anonymously to complete a questionnaire that can be found at the following address: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform? formkey=dGpvcGZWdWlvWTFETGlNQWg0NHVVT2c6MA The subject matter of my survey makes me prefer respondents who do not specialise in sociolinguistics or normative linguistics. If you would like to help me please visit the webpage and provide the following password: mratajq13 . Since I live outside the UK, I am not able to provide you with any financial reward. If, however, your scholarly interests include sociolinguistics, normative linguistics or the Slavic languages, in particular Polish, and you need advice, information or linguistics-related translation, do not hesitate to contact me via e- mail, providing the above-mentioned password in the title of your message. Thank you in advance. Maciej Rataj, MA Institute of English University of Gdansk, Poland rataj.maciej109 gmail.com www.ug.edu.pl
