This workshop will address the difficulties associated with adapting (socio)linguistic methods for the creation and storing of corpora, to permit them to be archived for further study or for historical comparison, so future 'panel' or 'trend' corpora can be developed from them. The Satellite Workshop -- https://lsadc.org/info/meet-annual12-sociolinguistic.cfm -- will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 4 and continue through 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 5. The LSA conference fee covers registration for the Satellite Workshop.
