Meeting Description:
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is now a reality at all levels of education. In a wide variety of classrooms and lecture halls, there is now a dual learning goal: non-linguistic subjects are being taught in a language that is not the learners' mother tongue, with a view to boosting pupils' competence in the target language while increasing their knowledge of a particular curricular area. The European Union is devoting particular attention to this educational approach, which is widespread across the world and can be found in many different contexts, including monolingual, bilingual and multilingual settings. The constantly changing panorama of CLIL raises a series of pressing issues that affect pupils and teachers, schools and universities. The aim of this international conference is therefore to promote interdisciplinary discussion of one of the most complex challenge facing the educational system today: the integrated learning of contents and second/third languages (Content and Language Integrated Learning) at all levels in the educational system: Pre-School and Primary School, Secondary School, and University. We intend to exchange ideas and encourage debate on aspects of this topic that are of concern to teachers and researchers.
Call for Papers: Papers will each be assigned 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for debate and discussion. The congress is open to papers that report research results as well as teaching experiences. Proposals should be sent by email to clil unav.es as an attached Word document. The proposals should include the following data: 1. Title of paper 2. Complete name, address, telephone number, fax and email address of the author(s) 3. Institutional affiliation 4. Language of the instruction/goal language and the subject(s) that constitute the content (except for papers that raise general and methodological issues) 5. If necessary, educational level of the research, experiment or project 6. Proposal (no more than 30 lines) indicating the more clearly and concretely as possible the content of the paper 7. Technical resources required (e.g. computer, projector)
