CHINED III will take place in Rostock, Germany, 18-19 May 2012. CHINED III will bring together the latest research on historical news discourse. Adopting a broad definition of news discourse, the focus of this conference will be on the dynamics of genre conventions, particularly its triggers, agents and mechanisms. The conference aims at stimulating theoretical and methodological discussions, and also welcomes empirical studies in this field. This conference, like the two previous ones, adopts a broad perspective on historical news discourse, including prototypical examples such as pamphlets and newspapers as well as documents from various speech situations such as political speeches, proclamations and announcements.
