Call Deadline: 01-Jul-2012
Call for papers for a special issue of Novitas-ROYAL Teaching arts, literatures, and cultures in foreign language classrooms Guest Editors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Feryal Çubukçu Dokuz Eylül University, TURKEY Prof. Dr. Pierre Frath University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, FRANCE A peer-reviewed journal of Children's Research Center-Turkey, Novitas- ROYAL (Research on Youth and Language) is an open access, international, and fully refereed (peer-reviewed) journal devoted to research and critical discussion about all aspects of language, linguistics and learning and teaching of foreign languages. The journal can be reached at http://www.novitasroyal.org. The journal is planning to publish a special issue on teaching (with) arts, literatures, and cultures in foreign language classrooms in its October 2012 issue which coincides with its 6th year in publication. Arts, literatures, and cultures is a field of teaching and research that continually experiences challenges to their legitimation in more traditional and conventional approaches to foreign language education. However, especially because of the growing importance of constructivist learning environments and intercultural/ multicultural education, teaching (with) arts, literatures and cultures receives increasing recognition by foreign language teachers and researchers. This call for papers invites submissions in the field of foreign language teaching in relation to making use of arts, literatures, and cultures while teaching English and other foreign languages. We encourage submissions that make use of interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches to studying and researching. Studies that follow alternative or experimental research designs and purely artistic-experimental studies and philosophical papers are also welcome. Authors interested in contributing to our special issue should direct their questions and send their papers to the special issue contact person/ editor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Feryal Çubukçu at cubukcu.feryal gmail.com. Deadline for submission is July 1, 2012.
