This event was not exclusively conceived for people working in the area of Natural Language Processing. Instead, it aims to demonstrate that the compilation of electronic corpora (monolingual and bilingual, comparable and parallel) is not only useful to those that are already used to working with corpora, but also to less experienced users, namely students, teachers and translation professionals. Indeed, once the alignment process has been completed, parallel corpora can be processed in order to extract probabilistic translation dictionaries, translation memories and examples, bilingual terminology, among other resources. This conference cycle is intended to be an enriching and comprehensive knowledge-sharing experience, providing concrete examples of how all these resources can be used by professional translators in their daily activity as well as by students and teachers to meet the requirements of translation teaching.
