The laboratory is directed by Professor Jacques Mehler who just obtained an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council. The grant will be financing the laboratory for the next five years. Research Positions: 1) An advanced developmental scientist interested in language acquisition. Experience with very young infants and/or neonates would be desirable as well as Neuroimaging experience using NIRS and ERP. 2) An experimental cognitive scientist with experience working with both adults and infants. Her/his interest should be in language and cognition. Both positions require ability to use one or more of the following tools: Psyscope, MatLab, NIRS, TOBii. Our laboratory has the state of the art systems to study language acquisition. We test neonates in our laboratory located at a large maternity, and a laboratory to study infants from 2 months to 18 months of age. Infants are tested with behavioral methods using head turning methods, eye-tracking methods, EEG and ERPs.
