The students of the Ph.D. Program in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Languages of the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York will hold the17th Annual Graduate Students' Conference on March 23 and 24, 2012. Our keynote speakers for this year's conference will be Eva Juarros-Daussà (University at Buffalo) and Gabriel Giorgi (New York University).
Call for Papers: Submissions are invited on all periods and areas of Iberian, Spanish-American, Hispanic/Latino, Luso-Brazilian literatures, as well as any area of Hispanic Linguistics. Papers may be presented in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Please send an abstract of not more than 250 words via email as an attachment to congreso.hlbll.gc.cuny gmail.com by January 22, 2012. On a separate piece of paper specify your name, phone number, e-mail, title of the presentation, academic affiliation, and if AV equipment will be needed. Reading time of papers will be limited to 20 minutes. Authors will be notified by the first week of February as to whether their papers have been accepted. A selection of papers might be published in LL Journal, an online publication dedicated to the promotion of research related to the Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian worlds.
