New! Multi-tree Visit LL's Multitree project for over 1000 trees dynamically generated from scholarly hypotheses about language relationships:

The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to engage in non-discriminatory hiring practices. We urge employers not to discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we have no means of enforcing these standards.

Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international employment page at http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

languages and linguistics. Within it, the Department of Linguistics and
English Language is seeking to fill the position of Lecturer in Linguistics.
The lectureship (=Assistant Professorship) is an open-ended position,

with a research specialism in any area of Linguistics are encouraged to
apply. A specialism in psycholinguistics and/or child language acquisition
may be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate, completed or near to
completion, in the area of Linguistics, together with a developing record of
high-quality publications and a proven ability to contribute to a scholarly
environment of international research excellence. The post-holder will be
expected to contribute to research activities within their area of expertise,

post-holder will be expected to contribute to teaching at both
undergraduate and postgraduate level, and an ability to teach course units
in areas of Linguistics beyond their research specialism is desirable. The
successful candidate must be able to collaborate closely with colleagues in
the delivery of teaching and learning, be willing to take a share of
responsibilities for student progress and academic management, and be
eager to make a full commitment to our ideals of collegiality and academic
