Consultant will work remotely. Position Summary: Consultant will work on proprietary software by adding phonetic dictionary entries and selecting different speech units in the system's interface. Requirements: - Native speaker of South African English. a. Lived in the dialect region at least 7 years from ages 5-15, live in the dialect region now and accent is typical for people who live in the dialect region, OR b. Live in the dialect region for at least 75% of his/her life, live in the dialect region now and accent is typical for people who live in the dialect region, OR c. Currently does not live in the dialect region, but daily speaks the dialect region that s/he uses as (one of) his/her mother tongue(s), in addition to having experience in working on phonetics projects of the dialect region - Phonetics skills required. - Windows operating system required, Windows XP or higher. - Linguistics degree with specialization in phonetics required. Additional Information: Strong computer skills in a Windows environment and greater than average comfort with software and technology are expected.
