Full Title: International Journal of Language Studies (IJLS)
Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics; General Linguistics
Call Deadline: 20-Jan-2011
International Journal of Language Studies (IJLS) http://www.ijls.net/ is devoted to all areas of language and linguistics. Its aim is to present work of current interest in all areas of language study. No particular linguistic theories or scientific trends are favored; scientific quality and scholarly standing are the only criteria applied in the selection of papers accepted for publication. IJLS only publishes research papers based on 'original extant research' work done by the authors who submit their papers to IJLS for publication. We prefer NOT to accept 'transfer' papers based on works done by people other than the authors themselves. At times, however, 'State of the Art' articles may be solicited by the journal. Although IJLS publishes papers of a length of no more than 10,000 words, occasionally papers of any length, if justified, will also be published. Other materials that will be considered include review articles surveying developments in the various fields of language study (including language teaching, language testing, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, (critical) discourse analysis, ESP, curriculum development, politeness research, and so on). Also, a considerable number of pages in each issue are devoted to critical book reviews. The main themes include, but are not limited to: General linguistics Sociolinguistics Psycholinguistics Phonology Phonetics Pragmatics Discourse analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) Language and Learning Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication Second Language Learning and Acquisition First Language Acquisition Bilingualism and Multilingualism Language Policy and Planning Neurolinguistics Applied Linguistics English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Language for Specific Academic Purposes (LSAP) Language and Thought Politeness Research Syntax Semantics Semiotics Language Testing and Assessment Comparative studies in bilingual contexts Functionalistic trends and stylistics Pedagogy & Didactics Classroom Technology Design of Learning Systems Classroom & Teaching Strategies Methods of Evaluation Multilingual Contexts of ELT Papers should follow APA Editorial Style and should have the parts and sections indicated in IJLS style sheet.
